Don't stress about how it'll all affect you personally - things can always be changed and fixed up. I believe Bob said awhile ago that people would have the chance to reselect a race/human once races go live, so don't stress about what choices you make about your own chars right now.

What we need right now is a solution everyone finds agreeable.

I still need to have a think about all of this before I give my opinion. It's a hard discussion tbh

Im not whinging my point is with the SLOW skill macefighting its nigh on impossible to hit a mage in melee - if it sticks like this i'll go fencing (again) to combat this

some players are at like 780 skill points right now but would like to go human, personally i would rather have a gm there with me not always possible i know.

i understand you cant just snap your fingers and fix everything, even professionals need time and they get paid.

it is pretty easy to decide how you want to build your crafter, maybe a little harder for a pvmer, but it is totally impossible to build a pvper if the pvp system is not finished.

i can only adapt to the system if the system is finished.

i cant log on my house owners and play because i got no clue what race/class you guys are gonna add or change next so i dunno what to do, but i dont wanna lose my stuff so what do i do guys.

Hmm.... Well the fact is this. You choose a weapon then choose everything else. Really after choosing a weapon there isn't enough left to be creative. So, you can remove macing or swords or fencing but really who cares?

Really what I think should be changed is not any REMOVING of skills. Perhaps adding the skill alchemy to be able to use poisoning past certain levels would be good. Say, to be able to use the most powerful poison POTION, they would need around 60 alchemy as well. That way, perhaps everyone and their brother won't be using poison. I dunno but something along these lines might be more effective than removing skills available.

Aside from this or something along these lines, I think the removal of archery is the fairest choice. Be human and stop crying....you can have archery on a warrior, if it is a human warrior.

Oh and polls like this are kinda dumb imo. People already said what they feel and don't need yet another poll to baby them through it. mode=<sarcasm>I am sure staff will look at this poll and say ZOMG they don't want to lose archery!?!?! We better change that post haste!!<sarcasm>

So anyways, perhaps something a little more deeply thought out than chopping a skill is in order.

how bout to trade archery for stealth , it would make more sense that a warrior is to dumb to hide and just rushes in instead of not being able to pickup a bow . ( wich probably weights less then a sword , poleaxe or w/e )

most options on poll are just choosing between preferences like swords,fencing and mace, so those dont matter. wrestling would be nice but noone uses it. parry should always be a choice for a warrior, i mean who else should carry a sheild...a mage or necro...nope. the only that make sense are archery and poisoning. and actually poisening is more powerful thatn archery at gm, cuz you can poison them and smack them upside the head while your poison keeps on poisoning them..so i vote......camping! oh wait was that a choice? i think you should have to choose either poisoning or archery when you make your char, then you would have to keep it forever or restart

The races should make sense.. Maybe chips idea about more speed would work well as the balance for taking away archery from vampires. Other races could have other race specific things given to them to balance the loss of archery. This is obviously only of course if you don't give archery back..

well the whole pole is honestly kinda pointless
maybe someone should open a pole with creative and good options
OK people start listing creative new ideas!
then we can organize it with the top 5 ideas then vote on them
Explain your ideas thoroughly ! then I'll start a pole or someone will start a pole listing those top ideas. (a side note please list as many possible restrictions and variations on your ideas)
BUT note the good ideas have to be kinda approved by everyone here just to make it fair

EG.
my idea is for vamps to have extra run speeds when using a racial ability, to make up for the archery. this would make sense roleplaying why BECAUSE- vampires are known for there ab-normal speeds and agility and will balance archery with other warriors.
I also think there should be the following restrictions
1)you have to have 5 vials of blood collected from enemys to use the speed, or any other ability,
2) you can't be starving or the second lowest hunger level
3)dex should be lowered to 1 right after the ability runs out ( i mean if u ran and concentrated so much you should be tired after right?)
there can also be these variations
1) ability's could be buyable and you have to keep deeds like a house or something
if you have to keep the deeds to use the skill they can be stolen and *learned* by the other person and i think the skill should drop kinda like monster loot 1 ability should drop at random and a possibility of NO drop

and in memorial of me for coming up with the kick ass idea
the
name of the abilitys should be named after cool vampires like dracula and stuff
eg.
the ability to paraylze opponents would be called count ryoko's paraylzing leer

and the more power full teh vampire in literature and legend the better the ability and more costly it will be like
count chocula's cereal and food regurgitation would cost less but have a higher chance of drop and lower amount of blood usage then let's say
count dracula's deathly fang lure
or raziel's soul drain or steel (requires opponent to be at atleast 50% health consumes 10 blood bottles and restricts you to the use of 5 blood bottle skills for the next 5 minutes[this means you can only carry 5 blood bottles until the drain is complete] )
PS. who can guess where Raziel came from (what book or game or folk legend)
O and the limit on blood bottles should be like 20 and they should weight like 5 stone each

note- this can also be coupled with only 1 specific type of vampire class
> and humans should be able to learn certain skill sets that allow them to use skills such as paladins do in other shards
but these should be only effective against vamps and should be based mostly on defense
Drizzt's vamperic dodge - allows player to dodge the next vamperic ability
(note this is a stupid name for the ability because drizzt is a dark elf and for people who don't know i am not talking about the one on obsi i am talking about the one he got his name from)

but ya all that are just variations if staff do everything in the post it would take a LONG time and would be kinda over did but ya thats just an example to give staff ideas and suggestions!
