This is what i was refering to. but.... relax....

try to download it instead of running from the web. (as in, "save" instead of "run")

I think now is a good time for everyone to relax. We don't want a good thread to be shut down.

Sorry, Apoc. I didn't know you were on Vista. With all of the troubles going on with that OS it is no wonder you are having trouble yourself. :(

Yep, I'm still holding on to the clue that the manual patch isn't being applied for some reason. I'm going to have to shut up and let someone else take it from here. Sorry, brother... :(

run/save = same thing only that with run it ends up in a temp folder that might get cleaned anytime soon,.

Apocalypse, please follow these simple directions.
Be sure to be on a admin account on Vista.
Close Obsidian
(dont even open it if its not already, But if its been opened, ctrl+alt+del>open task manager>process's>obsidianpatcher.exe>right-click>end process)

Download the 400.exe file from the link provied
(download it to your desktop)
Ok, when the 400.exe is on your desktop, double click it
Let it work its magic. It may prompt u after completion to close.(do so)
p.s. Just click the link no reason to right click it.

fail posts left and right. I think I'll enjoy pointing out your idiocy as long as I'm trolling these forums.

If you're using Vista, try running the patcher (as well as the patch) in compatibility mode. This is what we do at work when a user is having software issues. Right click whichever you're running and goto the Compatibility tab. Try placing it under Win XP SP2 mode, and make sure to check the box under Privilege level to run as admin every time it's double clicked. Do the same for the other executable you're running.

If that doesn't work, take that shit OS called Vista off your computer and throw XP SP3 on there.

Even I can't run the patch, and I'm running windows XP - the patcher loads up a command prompt window and then kicks up an error message. Uberfail.

I was getting the 3rd error on this page.

I went here:
http://www.oldmp.com/forms/download/xpservicepack2.htm
And did that and it worked fine.

At least I think it was the patch that made me do this.
