when i attack armored npcs, i get mixed conclusions..sooo armored beings should be resistant to what fire based or energy based?
i attack with fireball, and its down to like 8-12(normal 17-22)
lightning is 17-22 i thought this as normal
but then the opposite is true for bigger spells of same base
e-bolt is between 1 and 35 or so, mainly low
flamestrike is up to around 60
and all of these except flamestrike are HEAVILY resisted now. i can barely get a spell to hit them.

It's actually a different system.
It's projectile based verses area based.
Energy bolt is a projectile, while lightning is an area(since it's free-flowing electricity it'll flow around/through armor).
And please differentiate between resisted and reduced damage from armor.
Resistance is either a works or not-works system, based on it being resisted through magic resistance.
Armor just lowers damage from spells that are affected by it.
But yeah that's basically how spells used to be in t3a. Ebolt was a giant randomness, and flamestrike flows right throuhg it, lightning was great for direct damage, etc.

so currently area spells are effected by armor? or are projectiles?
it would seem to make sense that area spells aren't effected by armor.. and projectiles be effected by armor...
eg. magic arrow a projectile spell would be blocked by armor... and would be most effective if ur shooting at a character with no armor..
same with e bolt.. should be effected by armor and its projectile....
lightning should be amped by armor not lessened.. same with flame strike....

well i noticed a ton of resisting of all but flamestrike spells
and reduced on fireball and ebolt, fireball was a steady reduction, about half. e-bolt was a crap shoot, sometimes 1 or 2 damage was all and went up to around 35 against armored, not armored was between 33 and 43 or so.

not sure if this is side note or semi on topic
lightning is mandrake and sulferous ash in spellbook, but it takes black pearl also. was hoping this was a error, since e bolt and fs are less regs than that.
my regs seem to be going through alot faster than before, poly and mage hunters.

lightning has always been a 3 reg spell is the trade off for only needing what 11 mana i think? since it does good damage
