This is a half-baked suggestion. I am not suggesting it be implemented as is without further considering balancing


At 60.0 tracking, character's have a 50% chance to be notified by a written message and a unique, in-game sound when another player-controlled character is within 50? tiles of you.

At 99.0 Tracking and 99.0 Melee Skill (and Archery?), Characters gain access to the Hamstring ability. Hamstring (.hamstring) would be a command that immobilizes (paralyze) their opponent for opponent for 3 seconds. Hamstring could either apply to next auto-attack (garaunteed to paralyze regardless of miss/parry) or cast on to a target within 2 tile range.
