Hello

I have been playing Obsidian shard for the last 3+ months and have not seen a single soul. This however does not bother me. I'm happy playing this game like it's single player. Occasionally my 6 year old daughter joins me and for that reason I have a couple concerns as she is a new player.

1. When I open the dxgaming website It redirects me to Porn. It appears your web server has been hijacked. This only happens on your website. Its on your side not mine. After a second try in the same browser window it will work.

2. All the NPC's that sell horses have been removed. It's very frustrating to find a ride for my daughter as horses are VERY rare in the wild.

3. Slimes have started appearing at random due to "Armageddon". My kid actually enjoys this because they're easy pray. But it worries me... what is Armageddon and how do we stop it???

Also...
I have a goal in this game to wear the best gear, own the biggest castle and slay the deadliest monsters. If anyone wants to help me run dungeons i would appreciate it. Soloing this game is hard. :)

Hello there and Welcome to Obsidian!

I haven't noticed any odd ball redirects to porn but as long as you use the URL www.dxgaming.com/obsidian you should be fine.

Horses have been removed from NPC's to encourage training a tamer and exploring the land.

Deep within a dungeon you'll find the one who conjured the outbreak of slimes, be well prepared for a tough battle if you face him!

The redirect first takes me to : "https://www.cpm20.com/watch?key=789a412 ... 6e23d65ea7"

And from there it redirects to a variety of other websites: porn, viruses, and other undesirable websites. When i tried to reply to this post it redirected me to the same thing. I saw that somebody else posted about the same problem on this forum. It could be this worm is being sneaky and not targeting certain people to stay under the radar.

Boop!

Any reason why whenever I use these forums I'm overwhelmed by ad links clicking anything? lol
At first I was going to ask what in the world you were talking about.. but after clicking the reply button I see it tried to redirect me to a phony Flash Plugin upgrading link. ARGHGHG I'll see if that's something I can address as soon as I get time.
If every time somebody comes to the dxgaming website "www.dxgaming.com/obsidian/" and gets redirected to crap, it's going to have a negative effect on new players (assuming there are any).

Yes, I tried looking to see if there's anything I can do on my end.. but I'll need higher access to this server to try to upgrade anything and kill the spam. Just reached out to GM Bob..

Definitely an infection. I will be looking into it on my end, thank you very much.

Sounds like Goomageddon has arrived. Normally players have been able to rally together to kill him, some players actually wait months to try to spawn him (it's a very slow process) as he's technically the biggest boss in the game currently and has the best drops, including his artifact which iirc has not been gotten yet by anyone. but if he stays too long (say another week or two) I will kill him before he gets unkillable for our low playerbase.

Question about the Poisoning skill:

To kill monsters faster I was thinking about adding Poisoning to my skill set (using the poison spell). On the Obsidian skill guide webpage it says poisoning damage is calculated as follows: (Magery + Poisoning) / 8

My magery is 65 and my poisoning is 20. So I should be doing about 10 damage. However I only do 2 damage. Has poisoning been nerfed? is there a different formula now? I want to know what my potential damage could be before I invest too much time training it.

I got part of it, let me know if you still see it over the next few days, it is definitely hiding a bit and stealthing when it shows/not shows. May have to rip the forums out. :/ which i'm not happiest to do but wouldn't be horrible.

Re: Poisoning

Poisoning pots, of course, deal level based on what type of pot.
The spell is based off your poisoning skill alone. (Yes the website is out of date)

Damage per tick = RAND(Skill/200) + Skill/150 + 1
Skill is in 0.1s, so at GM skill its RAND(5) +6.6+1) for a damage at gm between 7 and 12 per tick.
Ticks count is = 6 + Skill/150, so 12 ticks at GM.
Time between tick = 10-14 seconds, depending on skill.
So you're looking at 144 max, 84 min damage per poison at gm

I haven't experience that though, well as long as you enjoy playing games then there's nothing wrong about it.

The webpage "www.dxgaming.com/obsidian/" and all sub pages are being redirected. The same is true of the forum reply button. Today it was difficult just to make this post. I had to hit the red X to stop loading the page before it could redirect me. Usually the redirect will go away on the second try but today it just redirects constantly.

It is definitely inconsistent, Had four hits today on it, while none previously while i was hunting for it.
Will continue cleaning until it's gone.

Finally got some higher access from broadband for this temporary cleaning (super greatful, he's been busy).
I -think- that's the last of it.
Part of it was hiding in a directory up on .htaccess directives.

If you still see any of it let me know.
