Hints for dark elf quest: Only two people have actually figured it out, but this is an rpg guys. TALK TO NPCS.  Dark Elf Quest starting disabled for 1 week while people process this information. Those already on the quest can still proceed. Hints for necromancy: Firebolt Drain Health Flame Whip Reconstruct Total Protection Firebolt hallucinate Firebolt No more hints for either are going to be given out. Use your brain and figure stuff out on your own. Normal patches resume later this week.

i have a couple vaguequestions about quest...they dont give anything away:
is it whatever chr i start quest with i get dark elf or can i pick at end?
if 2 ppl are finishing quest, one finishes and theother walks in right after, does the second person have to start over? since it is supposed to respawn after someone finishes it?

ya its not a good if u have to explain things or how to use something to a point where its usefull at all.
Im sure people where probably complaining about not being able to pvp with necros or something ( i imagine people are finishing training them by now)
so ya id say just try what they say or compramise with them if thats the situation lol
but i might be wrong... ive been away for along time :.(

I agree with chips. Its the most stupidily thing in the world making a race so hard to find out that we need hints just to know how to use it. Its impossible for anyone to even use necros now and be decent without them already knowing all about the coding..

Also I don't like the idea of the coder knowing how these hints work because he himself created them while we, the players, have to figure them out on ourselves.
Like Chips pointed out: Whats the point in having a character when you constantly have to figure out how to use them, instead of just using them.

well i understand the whole dark elf thing. think of it as findng a rare. He didnt have to make the dark elf in the first place. Plus, when you fnd out how to start the quest, it might turn out to be something stupid . Then youll say"oh i should have knew that". this isnt something you have to do, and it doesnt give you any advantage. soo this shouldnt be big deal......but i do hope that there will be other quests that are more simple for like treasure chest full of gold and unided weps or something like that to give everyone something to do. It gets ppl out hunting and searching, win win.

As for the coder knowing stuff:
Actually, in that respect, there are already rules in place, and its been there since the beginning.
No staff is allowed to use any knowledge they gain while staffing.
In laymen's terms, this means that any quest/event i write, or that i help another staff with, i can't participate or help anyone with.
Likewise any event other staff help me with or write themselves, they can't participate in.
This is actually why the upcomming vampire patch is written by multiple staff, so that each has a part they can particpate in(if they want to) since they didn't write/have knowledge of it.
The quest will be re-enabled at the next changelog patch, sorry for stuff going badly but it's my busy time of year, for more read the newspost.
