Earlier, I appeared on the Bionic Commando podcast and rambled on about pointless things and got in an argument with some Capcom dude. Good times. The official word from Capcom is that the podcast I appeared on is the second most downloaded BC podcast. The first is where the team discussed Bionic Commando Rearmed, the second was me droning on and on and the third was when Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune showed up. Hello craziness! That’s just makes no sense whatsoever. So please, do humanity a huge favor and go download the crap outta the Inafune podcast. That guy made Dead Rising and Onimusha, I sit at home in my underwear and misspell words all day. He has insight into the gaming industry and should be second! Not me, dammit!

The February edition of the Age of Conan State of the Game newsletter brings news that the developers have decided to drop Prestige Classes from the game prior to launch.
According to the newsletter, instead of varying the gameplay experiences available, the Prestige Classes created a very narrow set of skills that were viable if one wanted to continue playing.
“[Prestige Classes] didn’t give more variety or more solid character progression, it rather cornered the player. We wanted character progression to be about choice, and not about running down a small corridor to a given end,” the developers say.
Interestingly, this is almost exactly the same thing that happened with World of Warcraft’s Hero Classes.
Prior to WoW’s launch, the Hero Classes were a much-lauded feature, but they were continually delayed even after the title hit store shelves.
The upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion is slated to feature WoW’s first Hero Class, so Age of Conan fans can always hold out hope that they may see Prestige Classes in the game sometime around 2012.

Once in a long while, there’s a game that leaves an indelible impression on your mind. It’s the type of game that will stay with you for years to come — so vivid, that you can imagine what the game was like years after without having to have ever replayed it. Needless to say, Escape From Bug Island is one of those games.
“Wait a minute, Brad! The game came out back in late July of last year! Why are you reviewing it now?” Why, that’s a good question, nameless reader! I had been asking Eidos for a copy of Escape From Bug Island since May, but they had forgotten to send it to me. Instead, I was sent every other game that Eidos released (including Kane & Lynch), but never Bug Island. So, I attempted to track one down once I had given up on Eidos send me a copy, I ran into a bit of trouble.
Searching around stores, I wasn’t able to find the game. In fact, Gamestop had removed it from their listings. Yet, a ray of light finally came last week, when Goozex user yoursisterispretty shipped me the game. Salvation! I finally got the chance to sit down and play Escape from Bug Island. Needless to say, this is a review you must read.
In other words, WELKUM 2 BUG ISLANDZ.

Tech blog Gizmodo ran an intriguing rumor about the potential of Netflix streaming movie service coming to the Xbox 360 on Live Marketplace. The speculation stems from an alleged survey sent to Netflix members which asked:
“If as part of your Netflix membership you could instantly watch movies and TV episodes on your TV with your Xbox 360, how likely would you/anyone in your house be to do that?”
With all those “ifs” noted, this rumor sounds awfully believable right about now. Recent events show Microsoft aggressively approaching the expansion of its business this year, and specifically addressing vulnerabilities and opportunities it sees out there.
Netflix looks like the perfect next piece of the puzzle to bring the fight to the blossoming battle for where people turn when they want to watch a video downloaded over the Net. In fact, while Microsoft’s disinterest in becoming a video rental store probably precludes their making an outright offer for Netflix, forging a strong partnership takes on not one, but two of their other big rivals.

The trailer for Ninja Reflex hit the web last week, in case you guys missed it… check it out below.
So what did you think? To me, it seems a little corny… but guess I can’t expect to much from a ninja game that doesn’t end in “Gaiden”.
